Good Sir!
Thank you for being so polite and for deigning to speak German with me. Also, for only making a little bit of fun of me for having written that I wanted to stay here until July 2012 (also, for pointing out “that’s in the past,” because who knows if I’d have gotten that I made a mistake if you just pointed out the date, you know?).
Also, thank you for not making me pay because I said, in very broken German, “The Fulbright people said that I should not pay because I have a scholarship” and because your boss was unsure. That was good of the two of you. Also, you taught me a valuable lesson. I’m now just going to tell everyone “They told me not to pay” and hold the stare and see what happens. (Das war nur ein witz, Sir. Keine Sorgen.)
I’m glad that what is hopefully the end of this Incredible Journey, Sir, was with you.
