Yesterday I went with a bunch of the other international students (okay, fine—they’re all on Erasmus) to Hannover (otherwise known as host of the train station in which I am going to grow old waiting to transfer) for the day. We went because it was the last weekend of Hannover’s Oktoberfest, which, as you can see above, does not deserve the name. Like, a bunch of dinky rides and some half thrown together tents populated by three old men do not an Oktoberfest make, Hannover. I left Hannover’s Oktoberfest without getting a beer, okay? That’s how sad Hannover’s Oktoberfest is.
We actually spent most of the day walking around the city. Hannover itself is pretty, in a standard small northern European way by which everyone with whom I was day tripping was unimpressed.
But the weather was lovely and the city pretty and I think that I can speak on behalf of all of the Erasmus students on my journey (never gonna get old!) that it was, simply speaking, a nice day.
