Dear readers of this blog,
As I have told everyone who knows me, and also some people who do not know me, I’m spending the upcoming year in Bremen, Germany on a Fulbright (she said, insufferably) doing research on Soviet-era legal dissidence as documented in underground publications and its (that is, legal dissidence’s) connection to/influence on Rule of Law in the former Eastern Bloc region today.
So! After tomorrow, this blog is going on a two week hiatus while I travel with my family. Then I’ll be in Marburg for six weeks, learning German, and then in Bremen, doing we’ll see what. I’ll try to do what I did when I was in Petersburg: that is, not travel blogging, but focusing more on where I’ve been and what I see and do and think (I KNOW) than usual, and also on, I don’t know, Soviet history and life in Germany, etcetera, and, consequently, focusing less on music videos from the eighties and writing open letters to pop stars and television shows.
Anyway. Thanks for reading. It’s really quite kind of you.
Mit freundlichen Grüßen,
